Virpominen is a well loved tradition by Finnish children, it is a kind of Finnish version of “Trick or Treat”. You decorate your own willow branch with paper flowers etc. You go door to door swinging your branch and wishing health, wealth, love etc good things to people. In return you get chocolate eggs. My friends and I used to say: “Virvon varvon tuoreeks terveeks rikkaaks rakkaaks.”
