Growing up in Finland there was nature all around me. The forest was my favorite place to play as a child, and sticks, leaves, sand etc. were my favorite toys. As I got older I often went on walks in nature. I also found it a very pleasant place to contemplate on life. On one of these walks I had my first spiritual experience that I clearly remember. Now both nature and the spiritual side of life is the inspiration for my art. I like my art to be positive, uplifting and promote peace.
I was fortunate to study art at the Art Students League of New York in NYC with several amazing artists; drawing with Gustav Rehberger and Robert Hale, print making with Seong Moy and painting with Richard Goetz and David Leffel. I have lots of fond memories from the school. I learned pastel painting from Nick Renzetar at WCC.
I currently live in Milan, MI with my husband Tom and three cats, Ricky, Lucy and Abby.
