My “Nature Mandalas” Show at Malletts Creek Library will run through July 29th. Still time to see it!
Y is for yellow.
“Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform a yellow spot into the sun.” – Pablo Picasso
W is for wonder.
“Awe and wonder must underlie the urgency felt by all artists – musicians, poets, dancers, painters – to sing forth the deep joy of existence.” – Carl Schmalz
“My great longing is to make those very incorrectnesses, those deviations, remodellings, changes in reality, so that they may become, yes, lies if you like – but truer than the literal truth.” – Vincent van Gogh
“Whatever satisfies the soul is truth.” – Walt Whitman
“Say not, “I have found the truth,” but rather, “I have found a truth.” – Kahlil Gibran (I love this one – so true!)
I started working on a series of butterlies made from photographs of flowers. This is my first one and it is based on a morning glory. It is probably not the final version, but I was quite excited and wanted to share it.
For my last mandala I decided to make another set of seven chakra mandalas, this time using just the flowers – I love it!
I decided to put together my previous seven days work. You can view each piece seperately in a bit larger format under days #22-29 in my 30 days/30 mandalas challenge.
Day 27! This mandala is based on a blue iris. I really like it. It is hard to see all the details in this small picture unfortunately.
I could not resist of making another strawberry mandala!
